Are
the Vatican Museums open everyday?
The Vatican Museums are closed on Sundays, all except the
last Sunday
of the month. However, The Basilica of Saint Peter is open
everyday.
On a Sunday while His Holiness is serving mass, it is closed
for a few hours…
but you can always receive the Papal blessings,
and enter the Basilica after the service.
If you cannot visit the Vatican Museums, you can visit the
catacombs
or any other place of interest that you may wish to see.
I was told that the 'line-up' at the
Vatican Museums is endless !
Is there a way to avoid this?
Well, honestly No !! If you are just two persons, we can do
something…
but more , there is only one alternative…. The line up
!!
If you are a group of 6 and more, it is good idea to be there
at 8am,
so you enter when the group entries begin at 8.45 am.
The best time to visit the Vatican Museums is 1pm, on Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday, you will find a very very short line
up.
Last entries are at 3pm during the summer as the Museums close
at 6pm.
Help ! I will be in Rome on Saturday,
and wish to visit the Vatican Museums
and the Basilica of Saint Peter.
The Vatican Museums close at 12.30pm on Saturday,
and the line up being long, you run the risk of not getting
in at all,
unless, ofcourse, if you get there by 7.30am !

Will a chauffeur be able to give us

Yes, sure ! He can give you a great tour of the city with
all the historical
information you need to know !!! But he cannot enter the historical
sites
with you because he is not a licensed guide. Of course, a
tour by the chauffeur
will cost much less than an official licensed guide.

Sure. However, a tour escort can give you all the historical
information
you require and take you on a tour of Rome, but he cannot

I am sailing into Civitavecchia on the
7th of July, can I book a car
to pick me up and drive me to Rome ?
How much of the city can I see before I return to the ship
at 5.30pm?
We will send a car to pick you up . The chauffeur will meet
you at the gangway
of your ship and drive you to Rome. Once you are in Rome you
can do
a panoramic tour, by which you will see The Colosseum, The
Roman Forum,
The Monument of Victor Emmanuelle II, The Capitoline Hill,
The Qurinale Hill,
and The Spanish steps. Then you can do a little walking tour
when
you will see Piazza Navona, The Pantheon, and The Trevi Fountain.
This takes about 3 hours, after which you can stop for a quick
lunch
and then do a tour of the Vatican Museums and the Basilica
of Saint Peter.
We will leave Rome at about 4pm and get you to your ship by
5pm.
Is it possible to visit only The Sistine
Chapel ?
The Sistine chapel is inside the Vatican museums,
you have to walk through the museums to get to The Sistine
Chapel.
